Welcome to Cusco! Today, our friendly Machu Picchu Tours representative will be at the airport ready with a sign of our logo and your name. From there, we will transfer you to your hotel and assist with your check-in.
Due to altitude in Cusco (11,151 ft / 3399 m) we do suggest to spend the rest of the day relaxing. We would also recommend arriving to Cusco in the morning that way you can acclimatize to the altitude for the rest of the day or come a day before you start a tour with us.

Sightsee towards the streets of Cusco, there are fascinating Inca artworks that are still intact to this day with a mix of European-colonial style.
We leave the hotel at 1 pm and visit one of the most captivating cathedral of Peru, We continue the tour by stopping at the temple of Coricancha (Sacred Temple of the Incas) and finish exploring the city by going to the nearest archaeological site of Cusco, Sacsayhuaman (12139 ft / 3700m). We end the tour by visiting Qenqo, Tambomachay and return back to the hotel.

Today we will visit one of the most iconic places in Cusco, The Sacred Valley of the Incas. We pick you up at 7:30 am and make our way to the first stop point, Awanacancha. During the trip, we will have first sighting of South America’s treasured animals, llamas, alpacas, vicuñas and guanacos. We will also have the opportunity to learn about the alpaca wool and have time to shop for some beautiful quality baby alpaca fabrics.
As we continue on with the tour, we visit the archaeological center of Pisac (9,750 ft / 2,972 m), one of the prominent ruins along the Sacred Valley. Pisa market is one of the most recommended markets where you will find a variety of gifts and souvenirs for all types.
Afterwards, we will have lunch (included) offering a variety of options. Then we stop at a Peruvian bar (Chichería) and try the traditional Peruvian drinks.
Finally we will explore the gems of the archeological site of Ollantaytambo and conclude with the last stop of the tour, Chincero. Be transferred back to your hotel in Cusco (an hour trip).

Pick up will start from 9am at your hotel; we will head to Moray where we will have time to take photos and learn more about the Inca culture. We will then pass through the salt mines and have the opportunity to see up close the making of the product. After seeing these two beautiful places, we board the bus and stop for lunch at a traditional Peruvian restaurant, we then make our way to the parking lot of the train station and board the train at 4:40 pm (or similar train timetable). The journey will be from Ollantaytambo to the town of Aguas Calientes (approximately 2 hours). Overnight stay at a 3 star hotel in Aguas Calientes.

Special Information: We recommend leaving your suitcases at the hotel in Cusco before we make our way to Aguas Calientes. Unfortunately, suitcases or/and large bags are not permitted in the train. Carry only what is necessary for the trip using a small backpack.
Today is a special and grand day, we will visit one of the 7 wonders of the World, Machu Picchu. After breakfast we will board the bus (30 minute ride) to the citadel of Machu Picchu Citadel (7874 ft / 2400 m).
Our guide will have the pleasure to share the history of our ancestor and show you the most important places of Machu Picchu. This will be a guided tour of 2 hours. From there, you will have free time to explore and take plenty of photos. We finish the tour by boarding the bus back to Aguas Calientes, have lunch (included) and take the train that leaves at about 2:30pm. Please note, the train ride will be 2 hours and another 2 hours via bus from Ollantaytambo to Cusco.

Your arrival has been arranged dependent on the flight information that you provided to us. If there is a flight schedule change within 48 hours of your regularly scheduled arrival time, please let us know in advance. It is highly recommended that you contact us at +51974378488 so your transfer from the airport to the hotel can be adjusted.
Your luggage is limited due to the train restrictions, even if its an overnight tour. All bags that you bring to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu) should be carry-on only. All extra luggage can be left safely in Cusco at your hotel or the Machu Picchu Tours office depot while you enjoy your tour or trek. We’ll take them from you on the morning of your journey and return them once you’re back in Cusco. Make sure your bags are appropriately identified, so it’s easy to locate them.
Baggage on the trains to and from Machu Picchu is limited to 1 backpack that doesn’t exceed 8kg or 17 pounds. Its linear dimensions should be within 158cm or 62 inches. Luggage storage may be arranged with your guide if necessary. Depending on your itinerary, tagged luggage can be stored at your hotel in Cusco until you return from Machu Picchu.
Please note any type of bag or bagged when visiting Machu Picchu. A bag can be no bigger than 40cm, or 157 inches high X 35cm or 14 inches wide X 20cm or 8 inches deep as anything bigger won’t be permitted into the citadel. There is storage near the citadel. Even if your bags are already tagged with ID tags, please use any Machu Picchu Tours luggage tags. This makes it easier for Machu Picchu Tours staff to find and manage your luggage for you.
Travel insurance is essential as it offers you protection against circumstances like trip cancelations, delays or interruptions, loss of baggage, medical emergencies, and other problems that may occur.
There are medical evacuation plans that are offered for additional protection in case of an emergency. At Machu Picchu Tours, we care about your health, and our recommended affiliate will fly you on their ICU-equipped aircraft to the hospital of your choice.
