The Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu Tour is designed to give you an unforgettable experience on your trip to one of the seven world wonders, Machu Picchu. Our Sacred Valley Machu Picchu tour offers a perfect introduction to the Inca Civilization before visiting their emblematic site – Machu Picchu.
Sacred Valley or as it is locally known, Valle Sagrado is located along the Vilcanota segment of the Urubamba River. Farming was the main occupation of the Incas. They were really passionate about their work, so they went ahead and created a farming lab. This was just to determine the best weather condition needed to grow any crop.
Villages in the Sacred Valley of the Inca favored them. Apart from being closer to Cusco City (the former capital of the Incas), the valley has the most fertile soil. The Incas built plenty of farming terraces and settlements here.
Most traditional villages here are well preserved. Families here tend to pass down jobs like farming and such to their next generation. In fact, most people living in the valley speak with each other in their traditional language, Quechua.
On this two day Sacred Valley Machu Picchu tour, we will be visiting some of the iconic sites in the valley. This will give you a deeper understanding of the Inca civilization and how proudly the people here have preserved it.
Once you get an insight into the Inca Civilization, we will embark on a scenic train ride from Ollantaytambo Aguas Calientes. This small village serves as a gateway to the citadel of Machu Picchu.
On the second day of this Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu Tour, you will head straight off to see the exquisite and unforgettable Machu Picchu.
Along with our tour guide, you will be visiting the prime areas of this Inca Citadel. This includes the main square, remains of Inca temples and ceremonial sites, farming terraces, and more.
The Sacred Valley Machu Picchu tour culminates with a train ride back to Ollantaytambo and an onward transfer to your hotel in Cusco.
