Day 1: Cusco – Golden Lake – Quencco

We will pick you up at 6 am and make our way to Tambomachay (20 minutes from the city) where we begin our journey. The trek will run for 2 hrs ascending (13451 ft/4100 m) to the top, once we are at the top, we will have free time to take photos and admire the views. From there, we will descend down the mountains (around an hour and a half) and arrive to our spot for lunch with a variety of dishes for everyone to try!

After lunch we continue the trek with rough and possibly bumpy terrain (approx. 3 hours). Along the way, we will appreciate the path as we walk pass unique views until we reach the campsite locally known as Quencco (11811 ft/3600 m) to relax and rest for the next day.

Day 2:  Quencco – Huchuy Qosqo – Lamay – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes Town

After a delicious breakfast, we begin the day hiking uphill (approx. An hour and a half) and then descend for another 2 hours until we reach our main point for lunch. Our lunch break will be very close to the archeological site of Huchuy Qosqo (11811 ft/3600m) with amazing views of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

We continue to hike by descending for an hour and a half to the town of Lamay where our transportation will be ready to move us to Ollantaytambo. From Ollantaytambo, we will board the train to Aguas Calientes town. We will stay the night at one of our recommended hotels and the following day, we will explore the wonderous site of Machu Picchu.

Today we hop on a bus and make the journey (30 minutes drive approx.) to the citadel of Machu Picchu.
