Why Machu Picchu Tours?
We are a fully locally owned tour operator and a licensed Inca Trail operator based in Cusco. Our guides are passionate about the history and culture of Peru. They have years of experience on hiking to Machu Picchu.
This is a high altitude experience. Although our tour guides will be carrying oxygen tanks and coca leaves, It is highly recommended to spend 3-4 days in Cusco to avoid altitude sickness.
Welcome to Cusco! Today, our representative will meet you and assist you on arrival at the airport. We will transfer you to your hotel and assist with your check-in.
As Cusco is at a high altitude, (11,151 ft / 3399 metres above sea level) we do suggest to spend the rest of the day relaxing. We would also recommend arriving in Cusco in the morning. So that you can acclimatize to the altitude for the rest of the day or come a day before you start this Cusco Vacation Package tour with us.
Sightseeing in Cusco City. The former capital of Incas is home to their fascinating artworks that are still intact to this day with a mix of European-colonial style.
We will be leaving from your hotel at 1 pm. On this half day tour we will be visiting one of the most captivating cathedral of Peru, Cusco Cathedral.
We will continue the tour by stopping at the temple of Coricancha (Sacred Temple of the Incas) and finish exploring the city by going to the nearest archaeological site of Cusco. Sacsayhuaman (12139 ft / 3700m). We end the tour by visiting Qenqo, Tambomachay and return back to the hotel.
Today we will visit one of the most iconic places in Cusco, The Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will pick you up at 7:30 am and make our way to the first stop point, Awanacancha.
During the trip, we will have our first sighting of South America’s treasured animals, llamas, alpacas, vicuñas and guanacos. We will also have the opportunity to learn about the alpaca wool and have time to shop for some beautiful quality baby alpaca fabrics.
As we continue on with the tour, we visit the archaeological center of Pisac (9,750 ft / 2,972 m), one of the prominent ruins along the Sacred Valley. Pisac market is one of the most visited markets. Here you will find a variety of gifts and souvenirs for all types.
Afterwards, we will have lunch (included) offering a variety of options. Then we stop at a Peruvian bar (Chichería) and try the traditional Peruvian drinks.
Finally, we stop at the last archeological site, known as Ollantaytambo, to visit one of the oldest museums of South America. We will then continue by exploring the archaeological site and move our way to the hotel in the Sacred Valley.

After relishing a local breakfast, we will be travelling to the trailhead of Inca trail to Machu Picchu. We will be taking a train from Ollantaytambo train station towards Aguas Calientes and will be getting down at Km.82.
Inca Trail head is called Km 82, because of its distance from Cusco on the way to Aguas Calientes.
The train journey offers spectacular views of the Urubamba River snaking through the Andean village.
Here the authorities will be checking your Inca Trail permits and your original passport. We will then begin the trail with a four hours hike. We will then stop for an exquisite buffet lunch setting organised and prepared by our Machu Picchu Tours team.
Once lunch is finished, we will continue our journey of 3 hours ascending through the valleys of the Inca Trail. Ayapata (1,0826/3,300m) is the first campsite and today is basically a training day for the following days to come.
Dinner will be served normally by 7pm. It is prepared by one of our top chefs! Camping under the stars is a moment to remember whilst at the same time you appreciate the natural beauty and tranquility this place offers.
Today is the longest day and by far the most challenging day of hiking the Inca Trail! We will begin with an uphill climb of 4 hours (approx.) Warmi Wanusk’a (the dead woman’s pass) is known to have the furthest altitude in the Inca trail (13,829 ft/4,215). So be prepared to have your cameras ready for some beautiful scenery.
We will continue on the trek descending to Pacaymayu (2 hrs approx) and take a break to enjoy a variety of meals offered for lunch. After enjoying a wholesome lunch, we continue on trekking for another 3 hours and finally a further 2 hours of descent to arrive at our final campsite of the day at Chaquicocha (11811 ft/3600m).
Treat yourself to a traditional Peruvian hot ‘mate’ tea whilst glancing at the sunset and ending the day with a great hearty dinner!
This will be more of a relaxed climb with 2 hours of beautiful landscape and gain more insight into Peru’s history and culture. We will make a stop to Phuyupatamarca (11811 ft/3600m) and take a minute to enjoy the panoramic view.
From there, we will descend further 3 hours to reach our final campsite, Wiñay Wayna (8530 ft/2600m).
We will have the rest of the afternoon to regain all of our energy. Later in the evening, we will be visiting a remarkable Inca ruin on the Inca Trail, Wiñay Wayna (forever young).
This will be our last dinner with our team. We will bid goodbyes and thank the porters who have gone above and beyond to make this trek amazing!
Last day of the Inca Trail Tour to Machu Picchu. At day break, we will hike to Inti Punku (Sun gate). We will be one of the first groups to enter the Sungate of Inti Punku and be ready for a glorious sunrise surrounded by superb views. Today will be a grand and rewarding day as we make our way to the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu.
We will be trekking for 2 hours to the Sungate and another 30 minutes to the entrance of Machu Picchu.
Capturing first-hand views of this magnificent citadel. After visiting Machu Picchu with a 2 hour guided tour, you will have free time to explore a little more of Machu Picchu.
Once we finish exploring, we will take the bus to Agua Calientes. We do recommend you have lunch in the town before you leave for Cusco. The return to Cusco will take us 4 hours approximately, 2 hours by train and 2 hours by bus arriving at Cusco at 7pm.
We will be picking you up from the hotel and will be transferring you to the airport.

Care, concern, follow-up, always peasant. Deliver further!! Note 1,000. An unforgettable trip and the agency made all the difference.Posted on Jovelti MJanuary 4, 2026Verified Achieve an A dream Machu Picchu is an indescribable experience. My guide was excellent, made it even more valuable. It is better to be in warm waters to start the walk early.Posted on Henny MJanuary 1, 2026Verified The BEST guides for MP by far I can’t begin to say how happy I am with the service that Macchu Picchu provided. We were impacted by the train crash and our itinerary had to change. They took care of all the changes, ticket updates, standing in line for information and then getting us on the first train out the next day. The train was still delayed for 4 hours and the station was as chaos. John ran around all morning keeping on top of everything. A stressful situation, but having John taking care of everything was so lucky. We relaxed and left it in his hands. When our family wit teenagers finally made it, The Macchu Picchu tour was conducted by Charly. He was a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable and passionate about MP. He had so much pride in what the Inca built and he immersed us in the stories. He didn’t rush us and we really got to experience the wonder of Macchu Picchu. I will recommend them to anyone that asks. 1000/10Posted on GénesisDecember 11, 2025Verified Sacred Valley - Machu Pichu Experience Excellent experience with our magnificent guide Luis Alberto. We appreciate your shared knowledge, the patience you had to keep up with us and your constant concern that we are okay. We highly recommend it. ñPosted on Francisca RDecember 3, 2025Verified Organization and KnowHow of the fabric handle in the most touristic exceptional part The day departed very early, we passed Edson before 5 am to get to Ollantaytambo to the train leaving at 6.40 am, the super comfortable scare, we went to sleep 😄, on the way we went to get our lunch (super good!) and Edson left us on the train. We had to get off at km 104, so we warned and everything was super coordinated. We arrived at the stop and met our guide, Luis. We set out on the journey, it was demanding, the one we took was an alternative one because the "normal" one was closed by the rains and could be dangerous (in December it is rainy season). The view always very beautiful, we learned a lot of the Quechua and Inca culture, the plants used for cooking, medicinal, and those we were seeing along the way. We made a stop in Wiñay Waina, a 100% place, Luis was explaining everything about the Inca and its culture while we were walking, and at that stop we could even stay something like 40 min to explore the place. We kept walking and arrived at about 17.00, we had almost sunset, super nice, we took some world photos from the sun gate of Machu Picchu. The day Sgt we went up just to visit the city and Luis there knew all the schedules and tips to bump into fewer people 😄 he told us about the life of the Inca and the life in cities and drums like we went to. Very nice, and super well organized. Lunch 10 out of 10!Posted on Anette VNovember 25, 2025Verified Fantastic, loving and memorable experience Our trip was fantastic from the start to very last minute and even beyond. I started to organize the trip with John already a long time ago and the whole time communication was excellent. I traveled to Machu Picchu with my blind dad. We had the best tour guide on our 4 day trip, Edwin, who was amazingly patient, loving and caring. My father, who can't see a thing, felt safe the whole time and taken care of. We were crazy to do this trip but I am so glad we picked this company. Everything was so well organized- Our cook Alejandro, was very very good and all the staff with us; thank you Marion, Emiliano, Prudencio, Juan, Willy, Alejandro and Rodolfo. Thank you the whole team!!Posted on Nyvia POctober 25, 2025Verified Wonderful I loved the experience with this Enterprise, Elaine is super attentive, careful and very responsible, the team as a whole works very professionally inall tours, ensuring that everything happens safely! I was very happy and recommend to everyone! ❤️❤️❤️Posted on Marinho AOctober 25, 2025Verified Wonderful Elaine and her team were fantastic!! Attention, affection and a lot of responsibility, everything went very well. Thank you for everything!Posted on Sherpa762685October 8, 2025Verified Visit was great but travel coordination not so much The visit to Machu Picchu itself was great! We had a wonderful guide and because another group canceled we had him all to ourselves! The coordination of travel was not great however, on our return to Cuzco we were not met by our guide to return us to our hotel. After waiting 15 minutes we ended up walking about 1.5 miles to our hotel.
