Resolve your doubts about Machu Picchu Tours

We want you to be sure that Machu Picchu Tours is the best company to go with you on your dream trip, here are the answers to some doubts you may have about us. If you have any other question contact us and we weill answer it for you.

Our payment methods include credit and debit cards, bank transfers, and PayPal, providing flexibility and convenience for our customers. To ensure a smooth booking experience, we recommend confirming the available payment options at the time of reservation.

Booking your Machu Picchu tour well in advance is essential, especially during peak seasons. For popular treks like the Inca Trail, it’s recommended to reserve your spot at least seven months prior to your desired departure date, as permits tend to sell out quickly.

For other tours, such as the Huayna Picchu mountain hike, advance booking is also necessary due to limited daily permits.

At Machu Picchu Tours, we offer unique experiences that include transportation, expert guides, entrance fees, and personalized options so you can enjoy your visit to the fullest.

Machu Picchu has several restrictions to preserve the site and ensure visitor safety. Some key rules include: visitors must enter with an official ticket and passport, large backpacks are not allowed, drones and tripods are prohibited, and certain areas have limited access. Additionally, you must follow designated routes and respect time limits. We recommend checking official guidelines before your visit.

To fully enjoy your visit to Machu Picchu, we recommend bringing: a valid passport and entry ticket, comfortable walking shoes, light clothing with layers, a rain jacket or poncho, sunscreen, insect repellent, a reusable water bottle, and some snacks. A small backpack is allowed, but large bags must be stored outside. Don’t forget your camera (without a tripod) to capture the breathtaking views!

Since Cusco is located at a high altitude (3,400m / 11,154ft), we recommend arriving at least 2 days prior to your trek to properly acclimatize. Our guides are trained to recognize symptoms of altitude sickness and always carry medical oxygen and first-aid kits on high-altitude treks like Salkantay or Ausangate.

Yes, absolutely. One of our core values is providing personalized service. If you have a specific interest in birdwatching, photography, or want to spend more time at a particular archaeological site, we can tailor a private itinerary to suit your needs and pace.

We offer various levels of difficulty. For families and seniors, we recommend the Machu Picchu by Train or Sacred Valley tours, which involve less strenuous walking. For trekking, we suggest a private service so the pace can be adjusted to the comfort of the younger or older members of your group.

As stated in our mission, we work closely with local communities and follow “Leave No Trace” principles on all our treks. We prioritize eco-friendly transportation and ensure that our operations respect the cultural and natural heritage of the Andean region to minimize our environmental footprint.

Safety is our top priority. In the event of heavy rain, landslides, or local strikes that might affect transportation, our Operations Coordinator (Luis Martínez) and his team will rearrange the logistics to ensure you reach your destination safely or provide alternative routes of equal value.
